The Stakeout’s Chef in Residence Program is a 9 month vehicle for both the tenured culinarian & the emerging culinary artist to experience the many layered landscapes of Taos: on the plate, in the kitchen, amongst the people & of the land. We create collaborative opportunities working within the traditional hospitality industry using our well-organized calendar of weekly events. Additionally, the residency encourages new directions in thought, practice & enterprise by fostering the creativity of each applicant. We provide a structure for each resident based on their individual interests, whether enabling a much needed sabbatical into the mountains of Northern New Mexico or by opening the doors of our community to collaboration, education & the honing of skills

The Stakeout Chef in Residency Program is an opportunity to expand on your career inside the hospitality industry. Unlike other programs The Stakeout does not require that the participant pay for their residency; all chefs will be compensated for their time. Our Chef Residency includes:

9 month in-person residency between March- November. Potential for additional weeks on both ends of the residency
Weekly salary
Furnished housing provided. Utilities included
Head chef position at The Stakeout for all events: (see Responsibilities section below)
Dedicated time-off each week for personal exploration
Established local farm connections
Stakeout supper clubs / community events / collaborative events. Tapping into The Stakeout community to conceive, create & execute private & public events
The Stakeout maintains a front & back of house staff, with a full-time Director of Operations to run the FOH, & aid in all events and collaborations.
A food budget to source ingredients from our local partner farms and markets
Professional kitchen space and pantry
