The Host or Hostess represents The Darling by greeting and directing all guests who join us in our entrance disguised as a Victorian flower shop. The position includes but is not limited to: being responsible for answering all incoming calls and making reservations on both floors of the space, as well as welcoming guests by showing them the way through our secret entrance. In order to provide excellent service to guests the position requires the host/hostess to be courteous, helpful, personable, a problem solver, and someone who pays great attention to detail. The host/hostess must also enjoy participating in the immersive and theatrical atmosphere created beyond the host stand.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
- Being detail-oriented is required.
- Must perform well under pressure and remain positive and calm.
- Must have a professional and friendly phone manner.
- Ability to multitask, often answering multiple phone calls at once in a fast paced environment while remaining calm under pressure
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Comfortable wearing formal attire.
- Schedule openness and flexibility including daytime and nighttime availability.
- Computer literacy necessary – proficiency with Microsoft Word, Google Docs, & Excel.
- Familiar with Apple Ipad helpful.
