The Grafton Pub is a well-established Irish bar in the heart of the Lincoln Square neighborhood in Chicago. We are looking for a motivated cook to spearhead our simple yet elevated menu concept. Some recipes will be provided for our menu, but there will be plenty of room for new and exciting, original items by this candidate. Our intimate setting could be the perfect enviornment for a culinary professional to express themselves with quaility, consistency, and creativity.

Responsibilities and Duties
· Successful culinary production operation
· Efficiently follow the direction of the kitchen lead.
· Follow guidelines on areas of stock, wastage control, hygiene practices and training within the kitchen.
· Ensure all products are prepared in a consistent manner and meet departmental appearance/quality standards.
· The ability to work in a fast paced, high energy and demanding environment while maintaining the highest standard of professionalism
· A flexible schedule with the ability to work day, evening and weekend hours as business needs require
· Ensures compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
· Interact with BOH employees on a daily basis in a fair and dignified manner.
· Understand and follow the food allergy procedure and special orders/restrictions.
· Assist in the development of menus and food items.
· Prepare ingredients needed for recipes of menu items.
· Maintain good quality standards including consistency and presentation.
· Coordinate proper food storage according to standard operating procedure.
· Communicate repair and maintenance needs to management.
· Understand and adhere to sanitation/safety guidelines.
· Safely and efficiently use knives and other tools, utensils and equipment necessary to complete preparation of menu items.
· Comply with all safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures.
· Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
· Be able to stand and walk for an entire shift.
· Communicate cordially, effectively and clearly with all employees, managers and guests.
· Accept direction and constructive criticism from management.
· Perform calmly and effectively in an extremely busy and stressful work environment.
· Be able to work a variety of hours, days, and shifts, including weekends and increased work schedules.
· Lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
