We are looking for a Sommelier to join our new and growing Little Saint team!

SUMMARY

We are looking for a Sommelier to oversee our wine menu and offer recommendations on the best pairings. Under the general direction of the Wine Director, the responsibilities of the Sommelier includes supervising wine serving, collaborating with winemakers to upgrade selections, and providing wine recommendations to guests. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a professional and friendly personality, strong knowledge of food and wine pairings, and excellent interpersonal skills. Ultimately, our sommelier should have an understanding of the wine making process, ability to create exquisite food and wine pairings, and be available for travel.

 

QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS

  • 3+ years of related food, beverage and service management experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage situations and information with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Exceptional communication skills (including oral, written and presentation skills) 
  • Relevant experience in hospitality/restaurant operations
  • Excellent computer competency, well-versed in booking and inventory systems
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under time constraints
  • Must have creative problem solving and critical decision-making skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across the organization
  • Extensive knowledge pertaining to all aspects of winegrowing, wine production, wine styles, and regional wine laws pertaining to classic regions from around the worldThe ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time
  • The ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend, reach with hands and arms, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds.
  • The ability to climb stairs and ladders while carrying up to 35 pounds
  • Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays and extended hours as business dictates

Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly (Based on Experience) plus tips
