Luxury Restaurant in Miami is Seeking an Events Manager

Summary of Position: 

The Private Events Manager sells, plans, and oversees the execution of all private event, special party and banquet functions as well as ensures that customer requirements and specifications are effectively communicated to operations teams, and that private dining functions run smoothly, efficiently and profitably.


 Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Solicits and promotes private event business through cold-calling, contacting past guests, and cultivating relationships with restaurant guests, local businesses, and other methods.
  • Promotes all private events spaces in the restaurant group, upselling or transferring reservations to other restaurants in the group when possible and advantageous.
  • Responds to a high volume of event inquiries from a wide variety of sources in a timely manner to maintain and build an active book of private event business
  • Negotiates final pricing, prepares contracts and secures guest signatures.
  • Collects deposits as required in the contracts and maintains an accurate log of payments for accounting purposes.
  • Documents final arrangements with clients on Banquet Event Orders (BEOs). Obtains all specifications and pertinent information concerning the event, including but not limited to, number attending, schedule of events, menu, wine and beverage selections, and room setup.
  • Coordinates with outside vendors to provide event enhancements such as décor, florals, balloons, tables, chairs, linens, photography and more.
  • Provides all Kitchen and Dining Room Management with BEOs and regularly reviews upcoming events so that there is a thorough understanding of all requirements on upcoming scheduled events.
  • Prepares all required paperwork, including forms, reports and schedules in an organized and timely manner.
  • Ensures positive guest service in all areas. Responds to guest complaints, taking appropriate action when needed.
  • Inspects event room prior to the start of each function – check room setup, menu, service staff, etc. conforms to BEO.
  • Greets guests prior to the start of each function and seamlessly hands off to the Dining Room Management and Serving Staff.
  • Observes, directs and assists staff as necessary during the event. Ensure that all the details as per the BEO are performed.
  • Communicates with guests after their event, either via email or phone, to receive any feedback, thank them for their business, and invite them back for a future event
  • Enlists the support of Private Event Assistants/Coordinators to fulfill the above responsibilities



  • Be 21 years of age.
  • Be able to communicate in and understand English.
  • Have knowledge of sales, planning and/or service of food and beverage in a fine dining environment, generally involving at least five years of management in comparable restaurants or upscale hotels.
  • Have experience operating a POS system such as Toast or Micros.
  • Have experience with reservation systems such as Tock or OpenTable.
  • Have exceptional organizational skills.
  • Be a self-starter with the ability to work independently or as a part of a team
