Shift Supervisor – Evanston Pour
Evanston Pour (Pour) will be a premier coffee shop and bar experience in the manner of the All-Day Café opening in February 2022 in Evanston, IL.
We will offer expanded hours, fantastic coffee and tea service, hand-selected beers and wines, and a distinct small-plates food menu in a warm, inviting, and sophisticated café setting to serve the Evanston, IL community.
We are looking for the right hands-on Shift Supervisor to join our team and grow with us! Our work culture is one that is intentionally inclusive, enthusiastic, positive, and welcoming.
The Shift Supervisor will work directly with the General Manager to ensure guests receive exceptional customer service. The Shift Manager will be responsible for maintaining an amazing and consistent café experience. This is top priority. We want our patrons and staff to feel as if they are recognized, welcomed in, and cared for.
Job Responsibilities:
- Building and strengthening guest loyalty by heightening the overall guest experience
- Managing and leading team members in café and BOH kitchen
- Assisting General Manager with day-to-day operations
- Overseeing operations when GM is not present
- Providing guests with friendly and professional service
- Ensuring guests receive food and beverages accurately and efficiently
- Assigning team members with daily tasks to be completed
- Ensuring all shift responsibilities are met
- Handling and resolving guest issues according to store protocols
- Managing multiple projects with team members
- Setting and maintaining service standards
- Improving and maintaining speed, efficiency, and flow of operations
- Training team members on tasks and responsibilities
- Communicating with GM when supplies are needed or other issues arise
- Maintaining a work environment that meets company, state and federal safety and employment guidelines
- Performing opening or closing procedures depending on store needs
- Ability and willingness to trade or cover shifts if needed
- Maintaining a clean, orderly, and presentable café at all times, including guest areas, restrooms, and work stations
- Organizing and restocking retail items throughout the café
- Communicating and collaborating with all team members
- Maintaining a positive, enthusiastic, and professional attitude
- Leading by example with company culture guidelines, customer service expectations, work ethic, and attitude

- Understanding of relevant health and safety regulations
- Familiar and comfortable operating POS systems
- Strong customer service skills
- Barista and bar experience is required
- Currently hold (or ability to obtain) Illinois Food Handlers certification
- Currently hold (or ability to obtain) Illinois BASSET certification
- Currently hold (or ability to obtain) Illinois ServSafe Food Allergens certification
- Illinois Sexual Harassment training is provided and required
- Must be able to provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination
- Morning, evening, and/or weekend availability will be required

Compensation Details: $40,000 Annual Salary plus tips with 7 days paid time off (PTO)
