Our newest location, a partnership with Tiffany & Co. at South Coast Plaza, is looking to add dedicated hospitality team members that share our passion for food, wine and exceptional customer service in an elegant restaurant setting.

Job Summary

The Assistant General Manager is tasked with the day to operations and motivating staff to ensure the highest quality customer service and experience. The role will supervise all front of house staff within any given shift to direct the teams to deliver an environment that upholds the Petrossian standards of service.

Essential Functions

  1. Clearly and confidently communicate with the GM as well as clearly communicate with all management colleagues and support staff.
  2. Performs office or non-manual work directly related to business operations or management as directed by the GM.
  3. Have a warm demeanor and preserve customer relationships through best service practices.
  4. Support the team to ensure the best customer experience and all steps of service are completed and maintained in an elegant manner.
  5. Achieve company objectives in sales, service, quality, appearance of facility and sanitation and cleanliness through training of employees and creating a positive, productive working team environment.
  6. Working in conjunction with all teammates to communicate all client sales needs including but not limited to: coordinating FedEx ship dates and FedEx shipments, pickup dates, packing up retail boutique orders, managing orders for all clients.
  7. Keep all surfaces in the facility clean, sanitized and organized.
  8. Constantly restock all products and rotate on a FIFO basis.
  9. Monitor all products for best by dates to ensure a client never receives a product past its best by date and follow patterns of ordering to limit waste.
  10. Weekly communication with the team regarding inventory, quality of product, credits and samples.
  11. Monitor all product for intact freshness seals or damage.
  12. Consistently monitoring supplies levels to make sure we are properly back stocked.
  13. Working with the PR team to ensure proper communication with the public and team.
  14. Respond timely to all voicemails, customer questions and event queries.
  15. Coordinate events with GM and Executive Chef.
  16. Research product procurement and ideas to improve our location. Provide suggestions to General Manager as needed.
  17. Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and in working condition, follow all schedules for maintenance.
  18. Be knowledgeable of restaurant policies regarding personnel and administer prompt, fair and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules and procedures.
  19. Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees and guests.                   

 Knowledge, Skill and Experience

  1. Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required:
    1. Minimum education level is a completed Hospitality Bacherlor’s Degree or equivalent (4 years) management experience in the fine dining or hotel environment.
    2. Servsafe or equivalent food manager’s certification.
  2. Minimum experience required:
    1. 4 years of management experience in a luxury Hospitality environment
    2. 2 years administrative support in a luxury Hospitality environment
  3. Skills required:
    1. Must have a thorough and confident understanding of food safety to ensure all subordinates are following all heath, food and general safety protocols.
    2. Be able to confidently read, write and communicate in English.
    3. Computer literate and be able to confidently work with all Microsoft suite of products.
    4. Have the ability to constantly reprioritize dependent on client needs and directives as outlined on a daily basis with the GM.
    5. Be able to maintain a positive attitude amidst an ever changing and demanding luxury environment.
    6. Possess excellent basic math skills and have the ability to operate a POS system.

Financial Responsibility and Authority

  1. Equipment
    1. TOAST POS system
      1. Monitor all staff punch and punch out times
      2. Confidently navigate the range of financial information available on this platform
    2. Dell – PC based laptops
      1. FedEx website and corresponding printers for shipping labels
    3. Apple Devices and a range of application such as
      1. Microsoft
      2. OpenTable
  2. Financial
    1. Responsible for the verification and maintenance of the flow of all sales (cash, credit cards, gift certificates, donations, etc.).
    2. Handling of cash deposits and communication with controller of any irregular deposits or payments.
    3. Ensure the tip share percentage for the business is distributed accordingly to all applicable laws and as outlined in the Handbook.
    4. Be able to use a calculator confidently when checking all paperwork
  3. Supervisory
    1. This position oversee all support staff as defined in the Organization chart for Petrossian Restaurant and Boutique – West Hollywood.
    2. This position directly reports to the General Manager.
    3. The position will also consistently contribute to regular management team meetings.


Compensation Details

Compensation: Salary ($60,000.00 - $70,000.00)
