Fine Dining Service, Wine Knowledge & Love of Food and craft cocktails are a MUST!
Located in the West Village, da Toscano is an Italian neighborhood gem looking to expand their front of house management team.
What we are looking for:
-We are seeking a professional candidate with fine dining service experience.
-Candidate must have formal wine training/Sommelier Certifications and experience ordering and managing a wine or bar/cocktail list and inventory.
-We expect our management to be hands on, and teach by showing, not by telling.
-Managers must be able to touch every table, build lasting relationships with every diner, always offer a helping hand on the floor, demonstrate patience, coupled with an ability to teach, and instruct.
-A polished, effortless, and natural floor presence.
-This position is specifically for a floor manager/sommelier that would have additional responsibilities with minor administrator related duties to include:
- entry of tips at the end of each shift into a pre-populated excel spreadsheet.
- Sorting, coding, and filing of invoices
- Staff education materials when the menu changes (food, wine, and cocktails)
- Oversee scheduling of the staff, maintain cleanliness standards, and hold the staff responsible for cleaning schedules.
-We are a restaurant that is open 6 days a week for dinner. As such, your schedule must be flexible to account for openings and closings in that week; specific days of the week cannot be promised off, but we always do our best to accommodate each other's schedules, as well as 2 days off in a week.
What we can offer you:
This is a salaried position, of $70,000-$80,000 yearly and pay is based on experience.
Medical and dental insurance is available after 30 days of employment and will be included into your benefits package with us.
There is great potential for growth within the restaurant, as well as on future projects, which is solely based on your drive and desires.
Applicants must have:
-Fine-dining experience as a server or bartender as well as experience as a floor manager for a minimum of 2 years (we expect your service fundamentals to be strong and thus the required experience is necessary)
-Wine training and/or certifications
-Basic understanding of Word, Excel, Mac, and office equipment
-Ability and willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays
-Be a 'people-person', as building guest and concierge relationships is paramount to the success of the restaurant. We are a neighborhood restaurant that caters to locals, and we expect you to be able to remember faces and names, guest nuances, favorite tables and to be able to welcome each guest as family.
Only qualified candidates will be asked in for an interview followed by a working trail to determine if we will be a good fit for each other.
