Job Details

Role: 

The Bronx Brewery is looking for an Expeditor (Expo) for its new co-branded pilot brewery, taproom & kitchen in the East Village. This kitchen is a collaboration between The Bronx Brewery and Bastard Burgers, Sweden’s leading burger restaurant group with the intention of using beer, burgers, art and music to build community and foster a culture of excellence with an unrelenting focus on quality. This role is guest facing and drives the intersection between kitchen, delivery, and front of house teams in the pursuit of culinary and hospitality excellence.


Location: 

This role will be principally located in Manhattan’s East Village at The Bronx Brewery/Bastard Burgers location. 64 2nd Avenue, New York, Ny 10003



Job Responsibilities:

The Expo is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Kitchen Pass and Guest Service area, assisting the Kitchen Manager in the organization of food orders and related guest service tasks, specifically in relation to the transfer, expediting, and fulfillment of food delivery, while maintaining compliance with DOH standards, professionalism, cleanliness, efficiency, and overall excellence.

The Expo supports the kitchen and front of house team by expediting, prepping, and balancing high volume with high quality guest interaction supporting the operational standards and the culture of The Bronx Brewery/Bastard Burgers (BXB/BB). This role includes opening and closing duties and stepping in as needed to fill other hospitality roles as the business demands. 

Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, overviewed by the AGM, the Expo will drive the food service each day, connecting the kitchen directly with guests.




The Expo will: 


  • Manage the flow of food to guest service to ensure the highest levels of safety, cleanliness, quality, and speed, while simultaneously upholding BXB/BB standards. 
  • Maintain the opening and closing standards for the kitchen pass and service area. 
  • Function as an expediter, controlling the flow of orders leaving the kitchen.
  • Develop and maintain high levels of guest experience standards, recognizing the open kitchen concept and service model. 
  • Drive standard service and packaging procedures of all dishes according to the build sheets as set by BXB/BB. 
  • Have intimate knowledge of Department of Health standards and use them as a guide to keep kitchen pass and service spaces clean and tidy. 
  • Send daily service notes as part of the EOD.
  • Will maintain standards of operation through digital compliance software.

What You Bring to the Table: 

  • Ideally 1+ years of experience in restaurants.  
  • Ideally a current NYC DOH Food Handlers License or ServSafe Certificate.
  • Passion for food and guest interaction.
  • Excellent problem-solving and process-driven delegation skills. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ideally in both English and Spanish
  • Ability to accommodate a flexible schedule. 
  • Ability to stand for long hours. 
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and multitask effectively. 


Compensation: 

As a valued member of our team, your compensation will include the following elements: 

  • This is a tipped position and subject to New York City tipped minimum wages.
