Al Coro is looking for hard-working and detail-oriented AM & PM shift Porters for full-time and part-time employment. Your responsibilities include ensuring tools, plates, silverware, equipment, facilities, and more within the restaurant are clean and organized. You will accomplish these goals as part of a team of Porters. You must communicate, build trust, and work well as part of the team.

This is a full time position and requires flexible schedule availability: including nights, weekends and lunches. The restaurant will be closed for Thankskgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glasses, tableware and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through dish machine
- Sort and stack clean dishes, carry clean dishes to cooks’ line and other proper storage areas, rewash soiled dishes before delivering
- Change dishwater in dish machine every hour
- Wash pots, pans and trays by hand
- Remove trash and garbage to dumpsters
- Move in and around a multi-story restaurant space as needed (There's a lot of stairs!)
- Return dumpsters to building trash room from street
- Set up or break down dishwashing area
- Break down, clean, sanitize and rebuild cooking equipment
- Fill/empty soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions
- Sweep/mop floors in kitchen and dining room as needed
- Sweep/mop floors in egress passageways, hallways, and common areas as needed
- Assemble/disassemble dish machine
- Sweep and mop common hallways outside of cellar prep kitchen
- Conduct general restaurant and restroom cleaning as directed
- Clean and sanitize staff bathrooms and locker rooms twice daily
- Wipe up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry
- Notify manager and time dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures
- May be asked to setup and breakdown private events furniture and equipment
- Job may include other duties as assigned by a manager not listed here
CHARACTERISTICS OF SUCCESS INCLUDE:
- Possess a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail to address the cleaning and facility needs of the restaurants, both in the dining room and the kitchen
- Possess a working understanding of sanitation codes and regulations
- Feel comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with an understanding of how to operate within a busy kitchen
- Be able to stay calm under pressure
- Be able to closely follow directions
- Be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Possess a minimum of one-year experience in a similar position
- Be able to stand for extended periods of time and work in a wet, confined area with elevated temperatures
- Be prepared for continuous bending, reaching, twisting and use of hands and arms
- Be prepared to ascend and descend stairwells as needed
