ABOUT CABRA CEVICHERIA: Cabra, which translates to “goat” in Spanish, draws inspiration from Stephanie Izard’s travels throughout Peru in Lima, Arequipa, and Cusco where she captured some of the vast flavors and culture from her experiences abroad. A bright restaurant sitting atop LA’s buzzing Broadway, Cabra celebrates a vibrant dining experience featuring panoramic views and an airy, lively atmosphere making for a true getaway.
SERVER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience
- Responsible for coordinating entire station and communicating to front and back-of-house personnel to provide a dining experience that exceeds guest expectations
- Communicate with manager and kitchen about allergies or dietary restrictions following “allergy ticket” protocol
- Enter order accurate into the POS per standards set by restaurant. Prepare checks, collect accurate payment, and enter tips correctly. Prepare checkout at the end of your shift following proper cash handling procedures.
- Properly set the pace of the meal by firing items appropriate to the kitchen.
- Maintain constant communication with support staff assigned to your section, keeping them aware of where guests are in their meal and what to expect next.
- Oversee and assist with clearing and resetting between courses, as well as water service
- Complete daily opening and closing side work assigned by management
- Present and pour wine ordered at the table adhering to wine service standards
- Assist in areas outside of your assigned station during service in support of the team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1-2 years serving experience in a high-volume restaurant
- extensive food and beverage knowledge
- experience with Aloha and Opentable or similar POS programs
- willing to work nights and weekends
- polished, professional, warm and hospitable
This is an ideal position for someone who is dedicated to providing great service and is seeking to become a member of a hard-working and fun team!
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift 10- 20lbs if necessary.
- Safely and effectively use all necessary tools and equipment.
- Stand and walk for the entirety of an eight-hour shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant.
