Job Details

GT Fish & Oyster is seeking talented and passionate pastry cooks! This position is for cooks looking to gain knowledge and experience in a fast-paced, creative atmosphere. Duties include PM service, production of all pastry components for plated desserts, and events. We are looking for hard-working individuals who are enthusiastic to learn what it takes to work under Executive Chef Giuseppe Tentori and Pastry Chef Joyce Park in a Bib-Gourmand Award Winning Restaurant. A great attitude and hard work ethic go a long way. ServeSafe Certification is required. Please email your resume in response to this post. Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Ability to follow specific directions and recipes procedures and scaling.
  • Assist in kitchen organization and cleanliness.
  • Keeping up with pars and maintaining product quality.
  • Must maintain a high level of cleanliness.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn. 
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a calm manner. 
  • Room for growth for the right canidate and creative input.

GT Fish & Oyster opened its doors in 2011. The seafood focused menu by Giuseppe Tentori is a combination of 50% modern dishes and 50% traditional dishes all served as sharable. The space, put together by renowned designers 555, was inspired by what principal Karen Herold calls “part James Bond’s yacht, part New England Cottage.” One of the most difficult reservations to get in Chicago, the 90 seat GT boasts a massive 22 seat bar, a “boomerang” table that seats 12 and a 4 seat oyster bar. Giuseppe Tentori was named Chef of the Year for his work at GT Fish & Oyster by Chicago Social, and Chicago Tribune named GT Fish & Oyster one of the outstanding restaurants of 2012.
