Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Executive Chef for their all-vegan cocktail bar, known for decadent vegetable plates and well-executed craft cocktail program. The interior is evocative, finished in deep blues, dark wood paneling and chandeliers, featuring artisan classic and signature cocktails with unusual ingredients, like wheatgrass, kombucha, smoke, rhubarb and hair bender espresso.
The Executive Chef is responsible for all culinary activities for the restaurant under the guidance of the Culinary Director, including but not limited to:
- Oversees all hourly BOH staff and participates in the planning, hiring, training and development of the kitchen team.
- Responsible for observing the overall quality of food preparation and appearance, cleanliness and sanitation of production, and equipment
- Manages all areas back of house including line, prep, dish and expo. Works side by side with the team to support operations.
- Trains, develops and coaches staff effectively. Takes corrective action as necessary.
- Assists with recipe development, under the direction of the Culinary Director.
- Manages cost controls within the restaurant to achieve the company’s food and labor goals.
- Responsible for maintaining sanitation and cleanliness standards with all food handling and COVID procedures.
- Assists with admin related functions such as ordering, inventory, receiving, invoice coding.
Education & Experience
- Degree from Culinary Arts school is preferred
- Five or more years in a Management role, Executive Chef experience preferred
- Valid ServSafe & Philadelphia Dept of Health certification required upon hire
