The role:

Bartender

Bartenders at JoJo’s maintain a high standard of specialty cocktails and have an intimate knowledge of whiskey lists, as well as pour specialty shots, beer, wine, fountain drinks, and floats for all restaurant guests. They need to check identification of bar guests to verify legal age, serve bar guests drinks and food, take cash and credit card payments, and keep guests happy and having a great time with wonderful customer service. Bartenders are expected to give full food and shake service at the bar and any tables they may have. They are expected to know the entire menu and be a sales person! Get the guests excited about our brand and build up a loyal following. The best bartenders have their regulars and make it a home for the local residents.

Duties/responsibilities:

• Verify legal age by checking identification

• Make classic and specialty cocktails

• Take payments from guests

• Open and close the bar properly

• Clean/sanitize dirty glassware and bar tools

• Keep bar clean, organized, and clutter-free

• Keep everything stocked behind bar

• Control TVs behind bar

• Create a positive and upbeat atmosphere

• Help run drinks when possible/if slow

• Prep garnishes ahead of time with gloves and use tongs when placing garnishes during service

• Time floats to shakes on same ticket when possible

• Drop napkins/rollups/ketchup/spoons immediately after placing order

• Prebus tables and bar and keep waters full

• Prep back-up bottles of batches and stock in bar cooler

• Make sure juices, heavy cream, and wines are all still within expiration

• Treat your support staff with respect, this is a team effort
