Job Details

The restaurants at 70 Pine Street, CROWN SHY & SAGA, are looking for individuals to join the Private Events department. With more inquiries than ever before, we need to grow our team! The city is coming back to life just in time for the season and we want to be ready! 

We are looking to fill the following positions: 

Crown Shy PDR Server (hourly + gratuity)
Crown Shy PDR Kitchen Server (hourly + gratuity)
SAGA PDR Captain (hourly)
SAGA PDR Front Waiter (hourly)

Our ideal candidate will have the skill set, interest and flexibility to work events in both Crown Shy and SAGA. 

Crown Shy has 2 private rooms- The Pearl Room and The Cedar Room- which offer events for seated dinners or standing receptions. The rooms can also be combined for larger events seating approximately 50 guests. 

SAGA features two floors dedicated to private dining, each with windows that frame views of the city skyline and Brooklyn Bridge. The rooms range in size, accommodating business dinners and board meetings, wedding receptions, film productions, and media events. In addition to the dedicated private dining rooms, SAGA restaurant and Overstory—a cocktail bar with a wraparound terrace—are available for partial evening and full buyouts.

Our restaurnats are becoming increasingly busy for events and we anticipate being able to acocmodate both full & part time schedules through the rest of the year. Please reach out to us if you have any major concerns regarding schedules. Please note: We are closed for Thankskgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day

We believe in a ‘whole house’ mentality and we expect all departments (Pastry, Savory, Dining Room, Events, Administrative and Facilities) to support and motivate each other to achieve our goal of guest satisfaction. As a part of our team, you will interact with all of these departments regularly and should be able to communicate effectively and respectfully with your co workers & managers.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
• Must have 2 years + experience in a fast paced NYC restaurant as a Server 
• Must be able to lift & a carry at least 50 pounds
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must be comfortable with repetitive motions (such as walking, bending & standing)
• Must be comfortable with elevators & heights
• Must be knowledgeable of Industry critics & awards
• Must have full schedule availability
• Must be able to take constructive criticisms and work well in a team dynamic
 

Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly (Based on Experience) plus tips

In the heart of Manhattan’s Financial District is a beautiful art-deco building at 70 Pine Street. James Kent, from the Nomad and Eleven Madison Park, and partner Jeff Katz, of Del Posto, have teamed up to bring a beautiful 7,000 square foot restaurant to the ground floor of this stunning, landmarked building. Boasting 120 seats, two private dining rooms, and a 16 seat bar, the restaurant will have a state-of-the-art open kitchen that includes a Heston Suite as well as a commissary kitchen to support scheduled expansion to two other concepts in the building opening in 2019. The team includes more than 10 veterans of the industry, all of whom have worked directly with James or Jeff over the past 15 years.

Our menu approach isn’t based around a geographical region or a particular style of cooking, but rather the endless creative pursuit of delicious flavors, beautiful composition, and generosity. We will always strive for gracious, warm, and appreciative service, where attention to detail and anticipating guest's needs are priority number one.
