Talented Assistant Manager needed for our elite downtown Chicago restaurant and hotel. the Albert embodies the spirit of the restlessly curious and unconventional. Featuring globally inspired cuisine, the Albert is a contemporary restaurant offering a menu that will engage, stimulate and revive the palate.

SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Celebrate the Albert culture of individualism, engagement, having fun and evolving experience for every guest, every time.
  • Represent Hotel EMC2 in a positive manner at all times.
  • Recognize staffing needs, use availability tracking sheets, request-off tracking sheets through Kronos.
  • Conduct weekly beverage inventory and cost analysis
  • Maintain the VIP reservation database and use Venue driver software
  • Employee development for cocktail servers and hosts
  • Update and monitor daily opening, running and closing side work checklist
  • Manage staff contest program to promote competitive sales opportunities
  • Contribute to the financial planning, tracking and forecasting
  • Maintain and organize venue storage area.
  • Professional appearance and attitude
  • The ability to handle a diverse staff
  • Bachelor’s degree or 2 years relevant experience in the food and beverage industry

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Knowledge of food and beverage positions within the restaurant, e.g., host person, bus person, food server, bartender, cocktail server
  • Knowledge and skill in food service techniques and sales strategies
  • Comprehension, knowledge and understanding of food product and preparation
  • Brand marketing and advertising experience.
  • Knowledge of service standards, practices, and etiquette in full-service restaurants and/or bars.
  • Full awareness and understanding of safety standards and sanitation practices for food and beverage service.
  • Extensive knowledge of wine, champagne and alcoholic beverages.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Communicate in the primary language of the hotel.
  • Wear proper attire at all times and be well groomed.
  • Be flexible since this is a 24/7 hotel operation
  • Must be able to lift and carry thirty pounds.
