As a Line cook at Torien, the primary responsibility is guest facing support to the Master Grill Chefs. Precision Plating of the dishes in between the grilled chicken skewers (Yakitori) and presenting these dishes to the guests seated directly at the 20 person counter. Prior to the daily opening, assisting the Prep Team in preparing dish components and eventually, skewing various parts of the chicken for grilling.
Responsibilities
- Self motivated prepping of food as part of a tight knit Team
- Produce precision presentations in regards to plating
- Interacting with the Guests One on One when presenting the dishes
- Order supplies to stock inventory appropriately
- Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and guests
Skills
- 1-2 years in a fine dining environment, Michelin preferred, but not necessary
- Must enjoy chicken and be able to share our guests passion for it
- Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- General knife skills a must. Chicken butchering a plus.
- Accuracy and speed in handling problematic situations in an efficient and calm manner
- Familiar with industry’s best practices
- BS degree in Culinary science or related certificate would be a plus
