The Opportunity

The Chef de Partie oversees controlling food quality and guest satisfaction through the support of the executive Chef and FOH staff. This role is responsible for handling the BOH, preparing and serving quality food, controlling inventory, preventing waste and maintaining restaurant cleanliness.

Any experience in working in a fine dining kitchen OR with high end gourmet products such as caviar and truffles is a plus.

 

  • Direct daily BOH operations including opening and closing, as well as facilitating food preparation and helping Chef with orders
  • Maintains daily prep for lunch service
  • Works Lunch service in cooking all meals for guests
  • Maintains daily upkeep of fridge and freezer
  • Ensures recipes are followed, an exceptional food quality is produced and brings creativity to the team
  • Specializes in all kitchen prep, procedures, portioning and timing
  • Ensures accuracy of all recipes and kitchen training tools
  • Maximizes profitability of culinary department by implementing effective food and labor cost controls, consistently monitoring budget to ensure efficient operations and reporting discrepancies
  • Follow Health & Safety and Food Safety standards
  • Be a team player – support and assist your fellow team members whenever possible 

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience as chef or equivalent role
  • 1+ years’ experience in a kitchen supervisory role
  • NYC Food Handlers Certificate
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays, and variable schedule per the needs of the business
