L&M Parkside is a new restaurant coming to Chicago’s Lincoln Square Neighborhood and is seeking an experienced Manager to join our team. All candidates need to have previous leadership experience working in a high-volume restaurant and be willing to create a team-oriented environment.

Working directly with the GM, the AGM will assist in establishing all of our restaurant’s operations and procedures. Qualified candidates should possess a passion to work directly with our team of culinary, beverage, and service professionals and assist them in making their programs run efficiently. This is a full-time position, and we are looking for the right candidate to start immediately and make a significant impact.  

Primary Responsibilities:
-Interact with, direct and supervise employees on a daily basis in a fair and dignified manner.
-Assist with the interviewing, hiring, training, development and retention of qualified employees.
-Be hands on with all Front of House positions to ensure smooth and efficient service.
-Follow up with employees and co-workers to ensure completion of assigned projects.
-Identify, address and document individual employee performance problems according to standard operating procedure. Discipline as necessary according to L&M Parkside procedures.
-Assign employee workstations.
-Organize and conduct pre shift meetings for employees.
-Create atmosphere including lighting, music, and temperature levels.
-Ensure adequate evening preparation levels based on business levels.
-Complete opening sanitation checklist, assign sanitation projects to staff and follow up with employees to ensure their completion.
-Perform a shift “walk through” in order to assess staffing, maintenance, cleanliness, sections and any special needs.
-Address customer complaints and problems effectively and courteously on an as needed basis.
-Use tact and good judgment when dealing with difficult guests. Respond to their needs with patience and courtesy.
-Maintain food quality standards including consistency and presentation.
-Comprehend and adhere to all sanitation guidelines as prescribed by federal, state, and local regulations.
-Communicate repair and maintenance needs to General Manager and/or appropriate repair source.
-Responsible for the security of and balancing and paring of all cash banks.
-Inventory and order appropriate restaurant supplies i.e. liquor, food, linen, paper goods, cleaning supplies, general restaurant supplies etc.
-Have thorough understanding of and practice L&M Parkside Group Employee Handbook, employee benefits, and company philosophies.
-Assist with the scheduling, conducting, and documenting of employee reviews according to standard operating procedure.
-Complete projects as assigned in a timely manner.

-2-5 years of full-service, high-volume management experience in a polished, well-run restaurant
-Ability to lead and motivate your team with an attitude of mutual respect
-Must be able to get along with others and possess a positive attitude.
-Follow all rules, policies, procedures and conditions of employment outlined in the Employee Handbook.
-Lead by example.
-Possess a valid City of Chicago managers sanitation certificate, or be willing to acquire it 
-Possess a valid Basset certificate. 
-Be able to stand and walk for an entire shift.
-Perform varied duties to ensure proper restaurant operation according to standard operating procedure.
-Skilled in developing and maintaining guest rapport through interaction
-High-energy, guest-focused approach to floor management
