Job Details
LM Restaurant Group is currently looking for an Assistant Restaurant Manager who has a passion for food and beverage service, attention to details and is enthusiastic about guests’ well- being. Applicants will be a willing team player, comfortable with computer systems and willing to accept assignments on as need basis, in order to promote team work. Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the General Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operation of restaurant
  • Assists servers and hosts on the floor during peak meal periods
  • Write the weekly staff schedule. Schedule labor as required by anticipated business activity while ensuring that all positions are staffed when, and as needed, and that labor cost objectives are met
  • Reviews staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs and financial objectives are met.
  • Maintain a consistent level of business for the restaurant ensuring that its budgeted goals are met
  • Identify and manage all aspects pertinent to providing guests with the atmosphere standard set by management upon opening (lighting, music volume, crowd density, etc.)
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings
  • Organize and lead staff trainings
  • Ensure continuous improvement in quality of service, operational effectiveness, and employee retention and satisfaction
  • Contribute to our environment with a positive and friendly attitude
  • Communicate with team members to ensure the highest level of personalized service
  • Ensures and maintains the productivity level of employees
  • Supervises and manages employees. Understands employee positions well enough to perform duties in employees' absence.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ensures compliance with food handling and sanitation standards.
  • Displays leadership in guest hospitality, exemplifies excellent customer service and creates a positive atmosphere for guest relations.
  • Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service.
  • Handles guest problems and complaints.
  • Provides guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
  • Ensures employees are treated fairly and equitably. Strives to improve employee retention.
  • Ensures employees receive on-going training to understand guest expectations.
  • Strives to improve service performance.
  • Ensures recognition is taking place across areas of responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • We are looking for individuals who have a thorough knowledge of food and beverage operation, excellent leadership skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Applicants are required to have one to two years previous employment in a related position.
  • A college degree is preferred.
  • Required to hold a current Illinois Food Handlers Certificate and be TiPS certified.
  • Strong command of the English language
  • Requires attention to detail and problem-solving skills, as well as a passion for customer service.
  • Demonstrates honesty and integrity; leads by example.
  • US work authorization is required.
