Buddakan, the surreal atmosphere of this awe-inspiring restaurant in the Meatpacking district of Manhattan combines the serenity of Asia with the flamboyance of 16th century Paris. The menu features fanciful interpretations of Chinese dishes and delights even the most discriminating palates. We are now hiring an ambious and focused Sous Chef who loves the fast paced work of a restaurant such as this.

Qualified candidates will be:
  • Humble in their approach to learning and professional self-development
  • Passionate about using Asian ingredients in a unique and exciting way
  • Energetic and enthusiastic and possess strong communication and organizational skills

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire, teach, and coach restaurant employees
  • 3+ years of kitchen leadership experience as a sous chef in high-volume with most recent experience in a Lead Sous or CDC position
  • Drive the success of service by supporting expediting and staff shortages
  • Support restaurant ordering, inventory, and cost control
  • Excellent time management skills and supervisory skills in a large space.
  • An Associate's degree from a culinary focused university highly preferred
  • Experience with Asian cuisine is highly preferred
  • Mature and calm demeanor in the face of adversity
