o ya, a contemporary Japanese restaurant in Boston’s Leather District, is hiring a Sommelier/Manager.
This is a unique opportunity to join James Beard award winner Chef Tim Cushman’s experienced and close-knit team at one of Boston’s most beloved and decorated restaurants; a place that prides itself on exceptional quality and service.
We are seeking a person with genuinely gracious hospitality and management skills as well as a sound grasp of beverage selection, costing and service. Qualified candidates will have a professional and positive attitude, the ability to multitask while maintaining composure, and experience managing in a fine dining atmosphere. Ideal candidates have a passion for wine and sake and experience managing these programs. This position works closely with the Chef de Cuisine and o ya Hospitality Coordinator to actively support and train their team as they deliver a world-class dining experience with intuitive, warm hospitality and polished service skills.
The o ya team prides themselves on a unique culture that has developed over years of hard work and commitment, and we are looking for a dynamic and empathetic leader to complement the close-knit group and provide the sommelier touch to service. o ya is open for dinner only, Tuesday through Saturday, closed on Sunday and Monday.
