Lead Line Cook at Death & Co NYC

Death & Co, the East Village cocktail institution is looking for talented team members!

If you have a desire to grow and want to join a passionate hard-working team, we would love to hear from you. We are currently hiring a for Line Cook in New York City, our flagship location. The position would be 4-5 days a week. We do require open availability to start, but a consistent schedule would be achieved within a couple of weeks.

Positions:

Lead Line Cook - $18 - $22 based on experience

Organize daily prep load into a master prep list based on most urgent needs

  • Execute Culinary offerings with a high level of precision and care.
  • Provide inspiration and creative influence to Culinary Team in keeping with D&C Core Values.
  • Assist in development with Chef de Cuisine and Culinary Director
  • Check in all new deliveries and the main storage areas (walk-in, freezer, and dry storage)
  • Administer culinary team projects, guest ticket times, and line staff training
  • Assist in dishwashing duties during the shift

Reporting Lines

  • BOH Positions Report to: Chef de Cuisine

Material and Equipment Directly Used

  • All kitchen equipment
  • Knives and other sharp tools
  • Chemicals and other cleaning products
  • Raw and fresh foods

Requirements

  • 1+ years bar/restaurant experience required

Physical Demands

  • The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing, for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours. These physical requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations.
