Renowned Chef and Pizzaiolo Mark Iacono of Lucali is opening a new restaurant in Carroll Gardens. The project will be a neighborhood pizzeria serving slices, other menu items, and delicious things to drink. We are looking to fulfill several positions.
The Pizza Cook / Prep Cook’s priority is to prepare dishes in the kitchen, set up workstations and ingredients in accordance with the standards of the restaurant.
Primary Duties
- Follow the prep list created by chefs to plan duties.
- Prepare doughs daily, including managing their fermentation and development
- Label and stock all ingredients to be organized and easily accessible.
- Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking.
- Prepare ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.
- Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by approved procedures, sanitizing surfaces, etc.
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
- Comply with sanitation guidelines.
- Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Essential
- Prior experience in preparing foods
- Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal.
- Provide legible communication.
Desirable
- High school graduate or equivalent culinary training certificate.
Physical Abilities
- Exert physical effort in transporting 5 to 40 pounds.
- Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
- Reach heights of 6 feet.
- Remain in stationary position for undetermined length of time throughout work shift.
