Job Details
Proof Bakery is an independent business in Atwater Village, serving our neighborhood since 2010. We specialize in laminated dough, tarts, morning pastries, European style sandwiches, and seasonal farmers market ingredients. We promote sustainability and locality in both purpose and practice.

We are seeking a Baker with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, who thrives in a fast-paced team environment and has a strong desire to learn and grow. Full-time positions are available. Shifts vary from 4 am and 10 am start time.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Assembles and executes daily menu items with finesse, sense of urgency, and consistency according to the
bakery’s recipes and quality standards
• Troubleshoots production and assembly as needed with minimal waste
• Oversee quality control and quality assurance in ingredients and daily production
• Masters recipe execution on assigned station
• Efficient time management – individual station as well as in coordination with bakery production
• Calculate daily bakery pars and pre-order/catering fulfillments
• Practices and upholds all health, safety, sanitation rules, regulations, and protocols in accordance with local
LA County health inspection
• Practices and promotes professional kitchen standards of conduct and service
• Demonstrates leadership by displaying job expertise, flexibility, positive attitude, initiative, willingness,
organization, communication skills, and enthusiasm

We are seeking candidates with:

• At least 1+ year in a professional kitchen experience
• Professional experience in fine dining service and/or high volume bakery/kitchen is preferred
• Proficiency in usage of commercial ovens, mixing machines and large scale equipment
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must enjoy and be able to succeed in a fast-paced work environment
• Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and respectfully with coworkers
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on bakery needs; must be available to work at least 1 weekend day
(Saturday and/or Sunday).
• Must be able to read, write and perform mathematical calculations
• Organized and able to prioritize tasks and unforeseen urgencies
• Full time availability (average 40 hours/week) with a flexible schedule and extended hours as necessary,
including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Ability to stand for up to 8 hour shifts
• CA ServSafe certification required according to local and/or state regulations
• Valid form of I.D. or CA Driver’s License
• Reliable access to means of transportation
