Jon & Vinny’s Slauson, opening in South LA near Ladera Heights & Windsor Hills, is looking for a General Manager to join our team!


A potential candidate must have previous experience in management and a strong ability to multitask and take the lead. We are looking for a General Manager who has a desire to dive right in, maintain systems and high standards and help take the restaurant to the next level. Applicants must thrive in a family environment and love guiding guests through an exceptional experience. 


The General Manager is responsible for providing a positive guest experience for all guests, ensuring the cleanliness of the facilities, maintaining a professional, positive working environment for all employees, and the following:


Accurately manage the restaurant financials

Code all invoices and enter into the PCL before submitting for payment

Manage the PCL - track prime costs and ensure the restaurant is within specified range

Ensure proper invoice and cash-handling procedures within the restaurant

Oversee all inventories for accuracy; complete periodic inventory tracking sheet

Ensure the entire facility is clean and in good repair

Manage deep-cleaning, daily cleaning and maintenance projects

Manage all repairs and equipment maintenance plans

Ensure the success of management staff

Oversee the AGM’s responsibilities to ensure service success:

Interview all new candidates 

Assist with fine-tuning and implementing training

Assist in schedule optimization

Co-implement with the AGM a continuing education.

Ensure focus points are distributed weekly

Ensure large orders are built correctly and distributed in a timely manner

Monthly audits of employee files and ServSafe certification

Oversee the Manager’s responsibilities:

Accurately prepare payroll documents in a timely manner

Ensure all new hires are on-boarded correctly

Ensure daily tips, clock-ins, bonuses, sick days, vacations are properly accounted for.

Develop managers and hourly employees

Constantly review facilities, systems, employees, service and costs for opportunities to improve.

Give constant feedback, good and bad, to all employees

Teach managers the importance of table touching and staying in contact with the guest

Develop a “working” mentality with all managers - staying off the laptop during peak hours and really leaning into service

Maintain a positive, inclusive work environment and ensure high employee retention.

Perform annual performance reviews for management and hourly staff

Ensure a hospitable experience for all guests and maintain high guest satisfaction.

Create relationships with all guests and provide a welcoming environment through guest interactions at the front door, table-touching, in the wine shop, and via email or phone correspondence.

Coordinate and approve large-format to go orders.

Work with the CDC to support all BOH operations, and assist in monitoring labor.

Continued development of AGM in key support roles, as well as coverage of AGM’s duties, if necessary.

Other duties as assigned.
