The owners of the successful waterfront restaurant, Maiella, have opened their second location in the heart of Long Island City. American Brass is a waterfront restaurant with a relaxed, upscale setting. Located directly across from the historically preserved Long Island City Gantries, we are inspired to look to the future with our sustainable practices. Long Island City is fortunate to have many excellent breweries and they are featured exclusively on our beer list. New York farms play a dominant role in sourcing our proteins and filling our pantry. Designed by Molly Elizabeth, the chic space features seating for up to 140 guests inside and 100 guests outdoors with a view of Manhattan and Gantry State Park.

WE WILL BE HOSTING INTERVIEWS FOR QUALIFIED APPLICANTS ON AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

As a Floor Manager at American Brass, you will be primarily responsible for service on the floor. Service encompasses the entire guest experience; from the moment the guest enters the restaurant to the moment the guest leaves. You will also posses advanced wine knowledge and will sell bottles of wine to our guests.

Service, includes, but is not limited to:
Training – monitoring incoming staff to ascertain their fitness for the position for which they were hired
Coaching – working with staff to bring their performance up to the standards of American Brass in a way that encourages their professional growth
Maintain a presence in the Dining Room throughout service, touching tables as necessary to ensure a great guest experience. This includes following up on complaints/refires, checking in on Special Requests/Occasion tables, or using your intuition to get out in front of potential issues.
You:

Uphold the highest level of DOH standards and safety, as well as company standards
are detail-oriented and able to get the little jobs done while maintaining a clear view of the big picture.
Have a passion for training and development of others
Are influential, team oriented leadership style
Are flexible and adaptive to rapidly changing priorities and work demands
Have Strong written and computer skills; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), E-mail and adobe indesign
Have the ability to comfortably lead a team in a busy atmosphere.

YOU:
GREAT PERSONALITY AND NOT SHY
Have at LEAST 3 years of NYC experience
Have a strong service background
Possess advanced customer service skills
Have a strong command of your role
High level of organization skills
Properly clean, set & maintain host stand
Work well under pressure
Contribute to the entire service team!
