Highly acclaimed San Francisco restaurant group seeks an career-minded Events Chef. The company operates different restaurant concepts, a retail operation, and a sophisticated events and private dining brand.  We are a Values-Driven Company and are looking for a leader to ou will be responsible for all Quince off site events, including food preparation, production and logistics. You will be implementing and writing event menus alongside the Chef de Cuisine, ordering ingredients for, coordinating staffing for prep and day of event as well allocating equipment and any materials needed for successful implementation. You will work with the Events Planning Team to tailor food, dietary restrictions, and style of service in accordance with the wishes of the guest. Between events, if necessary, you will assist the kitchen with service, prep and/or special projects. You will adhere to standard operating procedures for food quality and ensure the kitchen is compliant with the regulatory requirements for food handling, sanitation and cleanliness. Assists and supports the Quince Chef de Cuisine and effectively communicates their goals for the kitchen department and overall vision for the restaurant.


  • Implement and supervise all COVID-19 related safety regulations
  • Work with executive sous chef and Quince Chef de Cuisine in coordinating offsite BOH operations, staffing, ordering and menu design.
  • Lead and write prep lists and menus as needed for each event. Oversee duties up to but not excusive to,
    • Execution of Quince offsite event, breakdown and reintegration or allocation of ingredients after the fact.
    • Execution of recipes and style of food in accordance with the Quince kitchen as well as requests by guests.
    • Coordination of food ordering in conjunction with the Quince kitchen to maximize use and freshness of product and minimize waste.
    • Overall cleanliness of all areas of the Quince kitchen and shared areas of operation before, during and after service hours
  • Direct and teach cooks and prep team on proper techniques per prep station
  • Maintain an accurate and reasonable timeline and work schedule for the cooks and prep team
  • Breaking employees for mandated rest and break periods
  • Responsible for the storage and rotation of food items in the walk ins and dry storage
  • Assist in the enforcement of health and safety standard in the kitchen, walk ins and dry storage
  • Responsible for checking and recording the temperature of all refrigeration units and the checking and recording of the dishwasher chemicals
  • Responsible for the cleanliness and organization of dish room. Enforcing daily sweep times.
  • Assist in executing special projects, if necessary.


  1. Implementing any personnel policies/decisions as dictated by the Chef
  2. Provide feedback to chef regarding employee performance
  3. Direct prep staff in accurate time keeping and time clock practices and policies.


  1. Assist in the daily inventory controls: meat, fish, pasta, vegetable
  1. Conduct monthly inventory on the first of each month with another member of the kitchen staff
  2. Work with Chefs to maintain monthly inventory with targeted Quince COG’s goal at 26%
  3. Work with the Event Planning Team and Event ProForma to hit target budget for individual events.

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary Degree a plus
  • Mandatory 4+ years of experience in a similar role in a fine dining setting
  • Must be able to work independently and trouble shoot in unfamiliar and new environments
  • Must be able to lead a small to medium team from prep to execution.
  • Must have knowledge in numerous cooking styles and well versed in modern and traditional techniques.
  • Must be able to maintain inventory, cost out dishes and track overall usage and waste of goods.
  • Food Handler’s certification



  • Availability to work every day of the week including holidays
  • Ability to traverse all parts of the restaurant quickly and safely
  • Must be able to work standing 7-8 hours (excluding breaks) at a time
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds at time
  • Must be able to comply with all health and safety standards
  • Must have a driver’s license in good standing
