Vestry Restaurant is continuing to add to our Kitchen team.

Marking Chef Shaun Hergatt's highly-anticipated return to the NYC restaurant scene, Vestry is a dinner and weekend lunch destination inspired by the modern wave of New American cooking. Marrying raw and refined ingredients, the restaurant will offer an inventive menu of seasonally-driven dishes infused with global techniques and ingredients, with an emphasis on seafood and vegetable dishes.

We are seeking to hire experienced Cooks to join our hospitality team.

Vestry is hiring for:

Lead Line Cook/Line Cooks
Duties & Essential Functions:

  • Previous NYC hospitality experience preferred (2 years).
  • Culinary training degree is preferred, but not reqired.
  • Ability to execute one of the following stations in the kitchen: Meat, Fish, Hot Apps, Entremet, and Garde Manger.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the Chef and Sous Chef for all instructions
  • Have the ability to follow recipes and standards, train employees, and maintain health department, food quality, and restaurant standards.
  • Must be able to lift heavy boxes (at least 50 lbs).
  • Ability to walk, stand, and bend for extended periods of time over multiple floors.
  • Occasional kneeling, bending, crouching, and climbing is required.
  • Available to work weekends, nights, and holidays as the business dictates.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Food safety knowledge.
  • $18/hour
