Job Details

Dusek’s Board & Beer is looking for an Executive Chef.

About the Role:

Sharing the historic property with the award-winning concert venue Thalia Hall, Punch House and Tack Room, 16 on Center is looking for a talented Executive Chef to create, lead and design the next evolution of our culinary mission: pairing great food to great beer.

The Executive Chef of Dusek’s is responsible for creating dynamic menus, providing consistent culinary execution, and leading a strong kitchen team with scrappiness, enthusiasm, and embodying “hospi-totally” - our commitment to going above and beyond to serve our guests, staff, and the communities we interact with.

This building-wide position role provides an opportunity to create multiple menus tailored to multiple outlets, service styles, and private events.

Additionally, this role (and all leadership roles in our company) includes the opportunity and responsibility to help create a more inclusive, equitable, and diverse team, which is a goal for our company. Hiring, training, and modeling diversity, equity, and inclusion is an area of focus and will be supported and highly encouraged by 16OC leadership.

This position offers a very competitive compensation package, profit sharing, and endless growth potential.

About the Concept & Company:

Built in 1892, Dusek’s/Thalia Hall is a historic landmark located in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago. It was founded by John Dusek at the turn of the century as a neighborhood establishment. Dusek was a family man, a tavern owner, and a facilitator of the arts. He was a visionary, and the founding father of Thalia Hall. His hope for the corner of 18th & Allport was to build a public hall for the community.

Since 2013, our goal has always been to restore this multifaceted space to its original charm and character, to breathe life into this community treasure, and to facilitate a wide array of music, art, beverage and culinary experiences for the neighborhood it serves.

16” on Center, our family of venues and live music operators, exists to empower the team at Dusek’s Board & Beer, Tack Room, Punch House, and of course Thalia Hall to create unforgettable, seamless guest experiences as patrons visit each space at the property.

We pride ourselves on weaving music, food, and cocktails into our concepts. Our goal is to provide servant leadership so that everyone in our organization has the tools they need to thrive in their role every day.

16” on Center is committed to cultivating a diverse and inclusive workforce that reflects the neighborhoods we are invested in. We welcome all good humans to our organization and strongly encourage applicants from underrepresented groups.
