Valente's Cucina is a boutique Abruzzo-inspired Italian restaurant that focuses on seasonal, local ingredients. Born out of the Best of Philly award-winning Valente's Italian Specialties, Cucina looks to bring the quality and caliber of an upscale Philadelphia restaurant to the appealing downtown Haddonfield, located just minutes outside of Philadelphia.  
 
Cucina is currently migrating to dinner-only service five days a week and will work with the kitchen staff to develop and implelent tasting menus. 
 
Our restaurant seats 8-10 people at tables, 7 at the bar, and outdoor courtyard seating that can seat up to 20 people.
 
We are looking for a full-time chef with a solid knowledge of Italian cuisine to help take us to the next level of fine dining service. If you are a cook who can bring a passiion for cooking, solid kitchen skills, demonstrated knowledge of Italian cuisine, this is the job for you!
 
Job Description
 
Our restaurant is searching for a creative and motivated Line Cook ready to take the step up to a Sous Chef position to join our talented kitchen team. In this position, you will be in charge of prepping and executing dishes seamlessly. You will be responsible for knowing how to work all stations and Our ideal candidate is reliable, motivated, hard-working, and ready to take the next step forward in their career.

Your duties will include recruiting new employees, responding to customer issues, and developing new menu options. You should have excellent communication skills with in-depth knowledge of several cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and processes.

Responsibilities
  • Consistently flawless preparatoin and execution of dishes.
  • Handling daily prep work.
  • Assist with the preparation and planning of meal designs.
  • Operate kitchen activities in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and record inventory, and if necessary, order new supplies.
  • Adhere to and implement sanitation regulations and safety regulations. 
 
Requirements
 
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices.
  • Teamwork-oriented with outstanding leadership abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
