Job Details

Jr. Sous / Sous:  

  • Day-to-day kitchen operations including production planning and prep work
  • Support the team by learning all stations and being able to work on them during service as needed
  • Act as expeditor during peak service hours
  • Oversee the line cooks, ensuring consistency and quality of food taste and presentation
  • Inventory management and ordering
  • Assist with developing and implementing new recipes
  • Self-starter with the ability to determine what needs to be done with limited direction
  • 3 to 5 years experience as a line cook with demonstrated leadership skills
  • Knowledge of various culinary styles and techniques, including fine dining
  • General Hours: 1pm to close, 5 days a week. Friday and Saturday a must. Salary commensurate with experience. Paid time off after 90 days.

  • Be organized, detail-oriented, and work extremely clean
  • Professionalism and integrity in their work
  • Speed under pressure without sacrificing quality 
  • DOH Food Handlers certification
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Fluent in English a must, knowledge of Spanish helpful
  • Reliable with a steady work history
  • Provide references upon request


Parklife Taqueria is located in the heart of Gowanus Brooklyn. Our menu is an homage to the roots of Chef and Co-owner Scott Koshnoodi: a new concept taqueria showcasing dishes made with fine dining techniques and inspired by Persian, Texan, and Mexican flavors.
