Job Details

Cotogna is an award-winning chef-driven Italian influenced restaurant with a focus on product and guest hospitality. Cotogna is a part of a small collection of unique establishments From Lindsay and Chef Michael Tusk that also includes Quince, Verjus and Tusk Events.

Cotogna is seeking a career-minded Captain who is highly motivated and passionate about hospitality.

Qualified candidates will possess the following skills, abilities & experience:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in a comparable restaurant
  • Italian food and wine knowledge preferred but not required
  • Experience with seasonal & daily changing menus
  • Organization, cleanliness and time-management skills
  • Self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as a strong work ethic
  • Reliable, organized, efficient, courteous, professional & a team player
  • Heightened sense of awareness & great attention to detail
  • “A can do” attitude that looks for solutions
  • Strong sense of teamwork & seeks to drive results through collaboration
  • Provide an excellent guest experience that builds long term customer relationships
  • Must have weekend availability
  • Must have knowledge, passion & experience with wine, spirits & beer
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds & stand for 7-8 hours at a time
  • Previous fine-dining & high volume restaurant experience is preferred but not required, along with a willingness to learn.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous restaurant experience required; management experience preferred.
  • Successful completion of corporate training program required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to traverse all parts of the restaurant quickly and safely
  • Prolonged periods of time standing up
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds at time
