Upper West Side Restaurant is actively seeking an experienced multi-tasking food and beverage professional for an exciting opportunity to work at our “upscale-casual” location. The right candidate will possess excellent leadership skills,  communication skills,  and a respectful, positive attitude that motivates other team members to provide a superior level of hospitality.

SOMMELIER /  FLOOR MANAGER

The successful candidate will be performing the functions of the Floor Manager and Sommelier as a dual role, and will possess the following requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years NYC fine-dining restaurant experience as a Manager or Sommelier
  • Wine Degree / Certification(s) – In lieu of a certification, we are willing to consider a candidate with extensive French, Spanish, and domestic wine knowledge.
  • The ability to lead / train team members through effective mentoring
  • Strong communications and listening skills – the ability to effectively deliver accurate messaging to team and guests
  • The ability to multitask and maintain a hospitable and approachable demeanor, attention to the details and impeccable service standards in a high volume environment
  • Effective time management skills
  • Possess a - Positive Attitude, Enthusiasm, Creativity, Integrity and Accountability
  • The ability to interact and build relationships with guests and team members
  • Must be able to perform both hands-on and service supervision
  • Formulate wine menus in conjunction with the owners with the ability to create pairing to compliment the menu
  • Maintenance of wine cellar and inventory
  • Perform all duties associated with restaurant service to include bar service, food service, and wine service
  • Administrative tasks as to the needs of the operation
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, consisting of but not limited to late nights, weekends and holidays
  • Experience with restaurant POS – point of sales system, Mircosoft Word & Excel, RESY
