Owen’s Ordinary is Seeking a Kitchen Manager!

Owen's Ordinary, Montgomery County’s craft beer destination, is looking for a talented culinary professional to lead its culinary team.  If you are passionate about creating delicious food that makes people happy, and have proven success in kitchen management, then we want to meet you!  

Owen's Ordinary is an American Tavern located in the Pike & Rose District of North Bethesda. Featuring 50 temperature controlled drafts and over 150 bottles, Owen's Ordinary seeks to represent the best of the growing Maryland craft beer scene, heavily featuring beers from Maryland, but also from producers the world over that espouse the ethos of artisanal craft brewing.  The beer program at Owen’s is complemented by an equally compelling culinary program. Owen’s offers diners a menu of approachable American fare that emphasizes the best of the season and harmonizes with the wide range of beers offered. Owen's Ordinary was awarded the “Rammy” for Best Beer Program in 2018 by the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington and remains the destination for craft beer enthusiasts across southern Maryland.

Job Specifications

Competitive candidates will have leadership experience at establishments with high standards and thoughtful food and beverage programs.  They will have experience in managing a team with positive culture, hiring and training, managing and controlling costs while providing excellent product, and thinking on their feet.  We want a leader who generates enthusiasm among team members and maintains positivity in a fast paced environment.

Owen's Ordinary is a 175​-​seat restaurant and 60-seat beer garden from the Neighborhood Restaurant Group and the teams behind Washington, DC restaurants such as Birch & Barley, ChurchKey, Bluejacket and Rustico. Situated within the Upper Muse Alley portion of Pike & Rose, Owen's Ordinary brings a world-class beer program, led by Beer Director Greg Engert, and a distinct culinary program to match focused on elevated tavern dining.

The restaurant features a vibrant, casual bar and dining area within a clean, warm space featuring wood floors, subway tile, zinc cladding, and industrial steampunk elements. The kitchen opens onto one of two dining rooms and the two-sided soapstone bar is built into the facade, serving 50 craft draft beers to a large bar area inside and a 60-seat beer garden outside.
