Cushman Concepts is a restaurant group created by husband and wife team Chef Tim and Nancy Cushman. We are a tight knit team motivated by food and drink, who are on a mission to surprise and delight our guests every day. We are looking for a staff accountant that matches our energy and enthusiasm to join our team. 

The Staff Accountant is responsible for the coordination and review of all accounting functions, with a primary priority of providing timely and accurate daily, weekly and monthly financial reporting to the VP of Operations and Ownership. 

This position directly manages a bookkeeper who is responsible for the majority of data entry in order to allow this position to focus on strategic reporting and analysis of the restaurants.  Must be a self motivated individual with strong critical thinking and analytical skills. Must be able to assess current practices, recommend improvements and implement any new systems and processes for the growing company. 

Must be proficient in restaurant accounting and analysis.  Must be proficient in Quickbooks and Microsoft Office. Compeat experience is a plus. 


  • Provide timely and accurate daily, weekly (sales, cogs, labor) and monthly financials to Management, CPA and Owners.
  • Review all Bookkeeper work for accuracy; responsible for the integrity of the general ledger and oversee all automated GL work.
  • Coordinates the completion of the balance sheet account analysis.
  • Reviews cost center and chart of account structures.  Makes recommendations as to the cost center/account structure that will identify the nature of expenses to their proper area; assists in controlling annual expenditures and streamlines the data processing support required during month-end.
  • Performs other related financial duties per direction of Ownership.
  • And other tasks as assigned


Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Must be proficient in restaurant accounting and analysis.
  • Must be proficient in Quickbooks & Microsoft Office. Compeat proficiency is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting.
  • Three to four years of experience.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures on manual and automated systems.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and supervisory teams at all levels.
  • Must be energetic and willing to work hard in a growing company.
  • Capable of working under pressure and independently
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing (English)
  • Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, taxes and banking as well as interpret financial statements
  • Computer proficiency as well as spreadsheet proficient (hardware and software) – current POS systems are Micros, Positouch, Toast
  • Strong managerial abilities
  • Critical and Strategic thinking orientation
