Mid-City Wine Bar & Restaurant is looking to expand our team! Seeking restaurant management professional who wants to grow their career with us. 

 

Position Summary: We're seeking a Floor Manager to lead the successful day-to-day operations of the restaurant. This position helps oversee the restaurant’s daily service, operational and administrative tasks, including all guest relations and ensures food safety. They should have a great personality and be able to share his/her passion and love for wine when interacting with guests. This is a hands-on role where the Floor Manager is expected to work on the floor and  interact daily with Guests and Team Members as a whole in fulfilling specific goals that further develops the team and the business.

 

Duties and Supporting Responsibilities include:

  • Inspire to create, grow, and maintain a team that is energetic with a “yield to guests” focus and respectful attitude among colleagues
  • Lead authority on floor regarding service quality and ensure the highest levels of organization are maintained in the dining room and bar at all times.
  • Train and lead your team to provide the highest quality service to guests at all times
  • Instill and maintain integrity of service, touch tables while on floor to solicit feedback and to proactively address any potential negative experiences
  • Wine service and beverage knowledge a plus
  • Promote positive public/employee relations at all times.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of both food and drink menus. 
  • Assists in all aspects of employee relations, including but not limited to hiring, disciplining, training, developing, coaching and mentoring.
  • Support the wine & beverage service
  • Ensure established standards of food safety and sanitation are maintained.
  • Conducts pre -shift meetings and various training sessions required for operations.
  • Assists in development and/or implementation of all schedules and rotations; adjusts or balances the staffing levels in order to control labor costs without sacrificing guest service.

Experience and Skills: 

  • At least 2-3 years as a Floor Manager
  • Strong knowledge and interest in food and beverage
  • Knowledge of POS and reservation systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, holidays and late nights
  • Certification of previous training in liquor, wine, and/or food service a plus
  • Extensive customer service and resolution skills
  • A solid understanding of the basics of the wine, spirits and beverage world
