One Of A Kind Hospitality is looking for a General Manager for our newest location, The Old Plank.  We are searching for someone who loves the service and hospitality industry and wants to make a career out of it. We are a growing restaurant group with plenty of room for growth in the company. Please submit your resume and cover letter when applying for this job. The ideal candidate would be someone who is sports savy and familiar with programing special events on premises.

REPORTS TO: Director of Operations & Owner

SUPERVISES: Directly responsible for the supervision and management of all management and hourly staff (including culinary)

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs and leads full scope of restaurant operations in accordance with the company mission statement and values, including oversight of culinary operations from a financial and quality perspective; participates in service operations (ie: expediting, bussing, hosting) as necessary
  • Leads, supervises and participates in the development of the management team
  • Develops and drives guest relationship building and adherence to service standards, including staff training programs
  • Develops and drives all revenues and sales capacities to meet all financial projections
  • Manages, monitors and analyzes monthly P&L and directs needed changes to operations
  • Directs the hiring of all hourly staff; coordinates the hiring of management staff
  • Conducts weekly management meetings with Owner and Management team
  • Directs monthly inventory activities to ensure accuracy and adherence to deadlines
  • Oversees property and equipment maintenance/repair functions
  • Primary liaison for marketing, promotional events and activities, in coordination with the Director of Marketing

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 year of prior GM-level experience OR 3+ years of prior AGM-level experience at a restaurant
  • Excellent overall  food & beverage knowledge basics
  • Excellent knowledge and demonstrated skill in general steps of service
  • Strong knowledge of general restaurant financials
  • Guest focus – grateful for guests, passionate & humble about service, proud of job/restaurant, holds self/others accountable for guest experience, genuinely friendly & positive, professional appearance & behavior, strives to better self, finds ways to say “yes”
  • Employee focus – positive approach, respect & empathy, proven ability to mentor/develop staff and sustain high employee morale, excellent employee relations skills
  • Fiscal responsibility – strong understanding of food & labor costs, budgeting, P&L statements, inventory procedures, scheduling and cost control activities, able to forecast gross margin on a monthly basis
  • Accountability – strong attention to detail, does what they say, takes responsibility, maturity, prior direct accountability for achieving financial and performance goals
  • Proactiveness – takes initiative, “can do” attitude, excellent organizational skills
  • Effective communication – excellent verbal/written skills, excellent listening skills
  • Team focus – can work with others to accomplish goals, what level collaboration skills, proven ability to lead and manage teams
