Eight time Michelin Bib Gourmand Award winning restaurant operators are seeking a creative and passionate Executive Chef to lead our new Mediterranean dining destination within the vibrant food scene of downtown Berkeley.
The Executive Chef will work with ownership to refine concept, launch restaurant, and oversee daily operations. The successful candidate will be a self-disciplined, self-assured and competitive individual who demands high quality results from the kitchen. The Executive Chef will be able to react and adjust quickly to changing conditions and create practical solutions for dealing with them.
Requirements:
- 4+ years' experience as an Executive Chef or CDC.
- Passion and experience in Mediterranean cuisine.
- Strategic and big picture thinker with ability to also focus on tactical aspects of the work.
- Produce high quality plates both visually appealing and tasteful.
- Guide, assist and train Sous Chefs in both planning and execution.
- Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations conforming to all standards and regulations.
- Positive professional interactions with team and guests.
- Prior experience with pre-opening and opening activities for a new restaurant preferred including working with public relations and community outreach activities.
- Dedication to training future leaders and cultural champions.
