Job Details
Torch & Crown is a new brewery in New York looking for an Executive Chef to join a great team to open the Brewery & Restaurant in Soho.   The Location will have full brewery facilities and a full service restaurant with 300 seats.   The concept will be very food focused and not like all of the other beer houses in NYC.   T&C is looking for someone with great chops in high volume smart innovative food ideas/concepts  

- Work with team to develop New or revised menu/recipe items to increase individual restaurant's profitability
- Coach the teams on effectively managing costs while maintaining the recipe standards, and the cooking and preparation procedures
- Improve cost structure by improving BOH operating efficiency through maximizing the productivity of the staff, developing new procedures or streamlining processes; including receiving, preparation and cooking procedures, kitchen designs, and menu mix optimization
- Provide coaching and guidance on improving the mindset and skill set of BOH staff, and provide the staffs with the appropriate tool set to perform their jobs
- Reporting on progress both operationally & financially on a weekly basis
- Meet or exceed budget expectations through controlling of P&L item
- Increase productivity and foster positive inter-departmental communications

Qualified candidates will have:
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience as an Executive Chef, Chef de Cuisine or  industry leading kitchens
- Prior experience opening a new restaurant as an Executive Chef a big plus
- Must have a strong command of high-end cuisine and thorough business management skills
- Passion for training and development of others
- Attention to details of food quality, preparation and presentation
- Influential, team oriented leadership style
- Flexible and adaptive to rapidly changing priorities and work demands
- Strong written and computer skills; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), Outlook, E-mail and the Internet
- Seeing opportunities others haven’t- and creating opportunities others wish they’d thought of first
- Degree in culinary arts from an accredited University preferred
- Very high level of team work and team building skills
- Ability to work withing the brand and brand concept
