Job Details
Jack Rose Dining Saloon, a nationally recognized DC establishment with one of the largest whiskey collections in the Western Hemisphere, is seeking a full-time restaurant manager to join our team!

Our ideal candidate has extensive bar & restaurant service experience in well-reviewed establishments -- this person will work closely with our leadership staff to implement creative and consistent food & beverage offerings that rotate seasonally. 

Specific responsibilities include:

Education - 

Ensures server & bar staff are versed in every aspect of current food, wine, cocktail and beer menus 
Creates and executes bi-weekly product knowledge quizzes
Conducts service meetings along side management team 
Assists in coordinating educational tastings and events for staff 

Floor Management - 

Oversees timing, steps of service, speed and efficiency by remaining physically present on the floor during dinner service
Maintains ideal desired dining atmosphere by monitoring music, lighting, temperature and floor plans
Offers service support where needed during volume 
Leads by example by adhering to policy, procedures and code of conduct
Prevents and diffuses situations that may create risk to the organization
Follows the best practices of the company and brand to ensure guest satisfaction and profit maximization

Event Execution - 

Assists General Manager and Marketing/Private Events Coordinator in planning, organizing and executing in-house promotional events
Helps curate private events business by offering tours during business hours
Maintains working knowledge of events pricing structure & catering options in order answer FAQ 

Administrative - 

Helps maintains up to date inventory in MICROS POS system
Manages labor by scheduling clock in/clock out times and consistently review of FOH & BOH scheduling
Places organization and supply orders
Maintains up to date website information regarding promotional events, menus and operations info
Assists in tracking purchasing and sales across FOH & BOH departments
Assists in maintaining up to date employee files
Ensures all personnel issues are handled in accordance with current employment laws
Complies with OSHA, health, safety and ABRA policies


Skills & Requirements-

2+ years of senior level restaurant experience (i.e., lead service positions or floor management experience) in a high volume, high profile restaurant
Ability to acquire Food Handler’s Certification and ABRA Manager License required
Exceptional steps of service knowledge and floor presence skills
High proficiency in all food and beverage knowledge categories (specific certifications a plus)
Technical proficiency in MICROS, reservations systems (OpenTable, Resy, Reserve, etc.), Microsoft Office required
Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Wordpress highly desired
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including opening, closing, weekend and holidays
Ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds, comfortability standing/walking for hours at a time
Complete knowledge of all dining and wine menus
Complete knowledge of all cocktail and beer menus
Growing knowledge of whiskey collection
