Job Details

Rock Steady is looking for passionate and driven individuals for a Food Runner/Server Assistant role (support staff).  This person must thrive in a high volume setting. He/she is friendly and personable with the ability to diligently follow a checklist and performs the assigned steps of service while working calmly and efficiently under pressure.

You are also responsible for handling all foods, storage, and cleaning activities in accordance with sanitary procedures and standards.

A few more requirements and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Must be hospitality focused and solution oriented
  • Must enjoy and be able to succeed in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of proper food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize duties
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to properly lift 25 lbs
  • Demonstrate good judgment, problem solving, and decision-making skills

One-year relevant restaurant experience is preferred, but not required. 

Compensation is hourly plus tips.

Our Story:

Rock Steady borrows its name from the popular 1960s Jamaican music characterized by a mellow, swaying rhythm. 

Our menu focuses on contemporary renditions of traditional Jamaican cuisine, but also features Haitian and West African dishes. Taking cues from the convivial, community vibe of the Caribbean, several plates are generous enough in size to be enjoyed with others. Dishes can be complemented with selections from our menu of hand-crafted rum-based cocktails, locally sourced spirits or craft beer. 

We are committed to using authentic ingredients from the African diaspora that are both seasonally and sustainably sourced. We are catering to people nostalgic for signature Caribbean dishes in terms of ingredients, freshness, and flavor but who also appreciate novel and unexpected twists.
