Job Details
Are you sick of working in a corporate environment where every night a different partner or investor shows up right before you close with their idiot friends to sit down to a lengthy dinner?  Are you tired of clueless front of house middle managers making your life more difficult than it has to be?  Are you tired of working in an environment where kitchen management is more than willing to compromise the integrity of the food to save a buck or two?  We don't play that game.  Carrollton Market is owned -- exclusively -- by its chef.  The integrity of the food and service comes before everything else.  We make everything in-house, and change the menu regularly to keep things interesting for staff and guests.  Chef's goal is to own one of Nola's finest restaurants, and working towards that goal is our driving purpose.
Carrollton Market is looking for full- or part-time line cooks.  We are a chef-driven and -owned restaurant in the Riverbend section of New Orleans.  Chef Goodenough was New Orleans' Magazine's 2017 Chef of the Year and the restaurant was also a 2018 Top-10 Restaurant in the Times-Picayune.  Shoot us an application if any of this appeals to you.
If you do not have fine dining experience and wish to work here please include a cover letter stating why you wish to work in THIS restaurant.  Failure to do so will resuilt in immediate disqualification of applicant.

Upscale Casual

Chef Jason Goodenough opened Carrollton Market in March, 2014 with the intention creating one of the finest dining experiences in New Orleans. With the mentality that he -- and his staff -- should come to work every day with the desire to be better than they were the day before, this vision has slowly begun to come in to focus. In July 2016, Brett Anderson, the Times-Picayune’s restaurant critic, upgraded Carrollton Market’s rating to four beans. He said he felt compelled to upgrade the restaurant's rating "in recognition of what it has become: one of the most consistent manufacturers of excellent dining experiences in New Orleans." Writing about our chef/owner, he went on to say: "Goodenough is a chef-owner in both name and practice. Chefs of his caliber who still put their hands on plates are rare breeds; finding them in restaurants as intimate as Carrollton Market is rarer still." In December of 2017, Carrollton Market was named one of the Times-Picayune “Ten Best Restaurants for 2018.” Chef Goodenough was also named New Orleans Magazine’s Chef of the Year.
