1000 Figs is a small restaurant in Faubourg St. John (Ponce de Leon and Esplanade Ave.) with a fresh, vegetable-forward, Middle Eastern-inspired menu. Our restaurant seeks to serve vibrant, thoughtful food with warm and delightful service. We are looking for a restaurant team that is passionate about making great food, giving excellent service, and being a part of a workplace community that is fun, supportive, and engaged. We have a small staff of 20.

We are looking for a line cook! Prior kitchen experience is strongly preferred. It is most important that the individual is hard working and can maintain a positive attitude during the work day. Strong communication skills are a must. We need you to be able to interact respectfully with coworkers, managers, and customers. The ideal candidate will also be able to function in a fast-paced, busy environment as a part of a team. We are looking for someone who is constantly looking to learn and improve and is willing to make a commitment to the job for at least 6 months.

Responsibilities/ Requirements:
Act as expeditor & line cook during dinner service
Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
Setting up, stocking and cleaning up your station
Managing and prioritizing prep jobs on your station
Maintaining a clean and organized work space
Working the line during lunch or dinner service
Maintaining consistent plating and presentation
Helping out other co-workers when necessary (running food, clearing tables, etc.)
Occasional kitchen deep-clean shifts
Attendance at bi-weekly line cook meetings and quarterly full staff meetings
Prep jobs as assigned by chef
Cleaning kitchen after shift, and other weekly cleaning tasks
Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
Perform other kitchen duties as assigned

Starting Pay: Pooled tips! $16-$18/hr with tips ($9/hour base wage, guaranteed $15/hr regardless of tip pool)
