Barbuzzo Restaurant is accepting resumes for Sous Chef for our beloved restaurant in Center City, Philadelphia. We are looking for a passionate & creative Chef who can bring their love of Mediterranean cuisine (including house made/extruded pasta, wood fired cooking, Neapolitan style pizza, whole animal cookery) to Barbuzzo and complement our rustic menu. Candidate will be able to work with our CDC for training of the existing operation. Our team works very hard in a busy, open kitchen where guests are sitting less than 2 feet away from you! We want folks who want to work and contribute to a postitive kitchen culture and environment . We are looking for a Sous chef who can learn and grow with us as we start new projects.

Ideal candidate will:
* have 3-5 years previous experience as Sous Chef in a similar, fast paced restaurant.
* possess solid leadership of the Barbuzzo restaurant culinary operation in absence of CDC
* have a positive presence throughout the restaurant. 
* be able to manage kitchen staff effectively while working the line.
* communicate job expectations & manage employee performance.
* monitor food cost, labor cost & inventory.

Barbuzzo is a Mediterranean restaurant and bar located in the trendy Midtown Village area of center city. We serve small plates intended to share. With a wood-burning oven for pizzas & roasting, Barbuzzo’s menu features rustic, hand crafted regional fare. Barbuzzo has a full bar featuring Mediterranean wines, craft beers and cocktails. We have bar and counter seating overlooking the open kitchen.

Chef Turney and Safran have been working since 2002 to help reinvent 13th Street. The pioneering duo’s ten restaurants and boutiques between Chestnut and Locust Streets have helped transform the once-desolate neighborhood into trendy Midtown Village. Safran is the buyer for all products carried in both boutiques and also serves as general manager for the restaurants. As a team, she and Chef Turney are hands-on entrepreneurs who take genuine ownership of every aspect of their businesses, from the look and feel of the spaces to the products and menus that they offer to the service standards of the staff.
