Job Details
Mid-town East mainstay Aretsky's Patroon seeks a Private Dining sommelier to assist in managing and growing the wine program. The ideal candidate is interested in growing into a postion that includes administrative as well as service roles, a mixture of operations and front of the house experience. This candidate is professionally driven, open to new challenges and treats their coworkers as well as guests as if they were family. 
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in NYC fine dining
  • Extensive knowledge of wines from around the world 
  • Experience as a sommelier, or assistant sommelier. With appropriate experience, certification is a plus, but not required. 
  • Inventory/cellar management experience 
  • Knowledge of POS systems (Micros a plus)
  • Familiarity with design and office programs such as excel, word, and InDesign and Tripleseat
Job Description: 
  • Working closely with Wine Director to maintain day to day operations of wine program. 
  • Working in tandem with the floor captain to assist in leading and directing staff. Leading by example.
  • Provide on-site consultation with private dining hosts and coordinators.  Execute proper wine service for private dining contracts. 
  • Assist in counting and managing monthly inventory.
  • Day to day management of wine updates and inventory spreadsheet; entering invoices.
