Job Details

Manager is responsible for working with the other managers and the General Manager to manage daily FOH operations including, staffing, running service, and controlling costs. This position requires flexibility, problem solving skills and great attention to detail. This position ensures all management requests are performed while maintaining high standards and quality. The Manager is responsible for providing high quality customer service at all times.

Primary Duties:
• Accountable for carrying out all requests made by the General Manager in the most professional, effective, efficient matter.
• Assist in maintaining/running the floor during service periods. He or She must maintain quality and standards.
• Responsible for knowledge of each position and to help where needed.
• Assist in running the Front Door and act as Maitre D' during certain shifts.
• Have a strong understanding of each menu item (food and beverage).
• Work closely with the BOH to solve problems and ensure guest satisfaction
• Ability to communicate with all levels of staff. Exhibit honesty, trustworthiness, perseverance and commitment
• Responsible for training and development of all FOH. Monitor and report all disciplinary infractions by all staff to the General Manager.
• Responsible for entire opening and/or closing checklists including (but not limited to) station assignments and table assignments, cleanliness of the dining room and back areas, cashing out the wait staff, securing all doors and money.
• Work with students and new employees to orient them to the restaurant.
• Keep up with social media

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Micros, Microsoft office, and Opentable proficient
• Effective management style promoting a team atmosphere
• Knowledge of all kitchen operations
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Manage effectively through delegation

Education and Experience Requirements
• 4 year college degree
• 2-4 Years prior fine dining experience
• Prior NYC experience preferred
