Job Details
Johnny Brendas is looking for a talented Sous Chef to join our team. 

We are looking for someone who has a solid cooking foundation, is passionate about food and loves being a part of a close knit team. We need the ultimate multi-tasker; someone who can oversee and instruct cooks on food prep, while answering questions from the front of house.

Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to: 
● Supervising activities of all back of house staff members including receiving, storing, prepping, and cooking of food 
● Maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen area and walk-in 
● Overseeing methods of preparation, portion sizes, and timeliness of food preparation 
● Promoting teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with the rest of the restaurant 
● Expediting lunch and/or dinner service to ensure the quality and consistency of dishes as well as timing of service
● Executing large prep tasks. ie. stocks, sauces, purees, soups and protein butchery/portioning 
● Daily ordering and inventory control 

The ideal candidate will have the following: 
● 3+ years experience cooking in reputable restaurants 
● Minimum 1 year experience in a supervisory role, overseeing food production in a full-service restaurant 
● Strong knowledge of food preparation methods and culinary terminology 
● Ability to demonstrate leadership and organizational skills; inspires and motivates others to perform well 
● Clear, strong verbal and written communication skills 
● Capable of working independently and in a team environment; balances team and individual responsibilities 
● Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays
