Awesome!  You’re great at serving or bartending!  Whatever skills you have, you might have a knack for welcoming guests and hosting a unique dining and drinking experience.

At Izakaya Mita, we are a looking for highly qualified team members to join our family owned restaurant team!  As Chicago’s authentic Japanese sake bar experience 5 years running we are kodawari, or always improving our experiences for our guests and we are looking for team members to help that cause!  As we head into our busy season, 5th year anniversary, as well as upcoming media appearances, we are looking for smart and friendly FOH staff to join our familiy run team based service staff!

Internationally renowned in the saké industry, you’ll be working for Chef GM Brian Mita as he tries to perfect what an izakaya means to the city of Chicago.  He’s pursuing excellence both on the food and beverage side and as we prepare for our upcoming 5th anniversary in December! Amongst a number of media mentions, we are looking for strong team members who are looking to be part of something unique in chicago.

If you’re front of the house, we are looking for both a full time bartender and part time server to help us represent this unique culinary concept.  As Chicago’s only all Japanese sake and shochu bar, the sheer amount of sku’s is unique and challenging, but we approach it with a certain amount of fun and levity, while also being very serious and respectful to the craft of the brands we represent.  While we keep our cocktail game strong using all Japanese ingredients it isn’t the main focus of the program.  As the baseline of what we do is premium sake, so experience in tasting and selling wine is useful, and basic grasp of Japanese pronunciation and Japanese cultural insights are important.  For a Japanophile who knows the fundamental timings of delivering great service, multitasking everything front of the house from hosting, prebussing, upselling, cocktailing, attentiveness, and can work in a friendly team based service atmosphere, this might be the ideal situation for you.  With our veteran team, we are looking for the right candidate and are willing to train up the right person.
