Job Details

High volume catering company seeking a qualified banquet chef for a full time position including nights, weekends and holidays. Experience essential. Product and equipment ID knowledge a must. Culinary degree a plus. Should have understanding of HACCP procedures and requirements for food safety.

The Banquet Chef will be responsible for managing the banquet operations on a daily basis according to the guidelines set forth by the Corporate Chef. These duties include hiring, training and managing the culinary staff while successfully executing the menu.

We are seeking an outstanding candidate who can achieve the following:

  • Provide leadership and positive morale for the banquet culinary team.
  • Create and implement systems that will provide organization for the successful operation of the banquet culinary department.
  • Implement the procedures and regulations set forth by the Corporate Chef.
  • Create a team environment that promotes a healthy work relationship between the FOH and BOH.

Additional Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversees daily operations of all Banquets operations in accordance with the guidelines set by the Corporate Chef
  • Directly supervises Banquet Culinary Team. Assists in all other areas as needed.
  • Maintains high standards of quality and consistency.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and the sanitation of all kitchen areas.
  • Assists the Corporate Chef with weekly inventories, pricing and cost controls.
  • Makes recommendations for maintenance, repair and upkeep of the kitchen and equipment.  
  • Attends weekly food & beverage meetings when necessary
  • Maintains a positive professional attitude at all times

Experience and Skills:

  • Culinary degree or completed apprenticeship program preferred
  • 5 years prior banquet chef experience required
  • Execution of plated and station food service for up to 2000 people.
  • Extensive knowledge of cooking techniques and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one and small group situations. 
  • Possesses strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a high pressure fast paced environment.
  • Highly self-motivated and willing to work long and flexible hours
  • Ability to maintain a cohesive relationship with any and all other departments
